Sheraton Grand London Park Lane unveils new Afternoon Tea Experience, in collaboration with The Great Gatsby: A new musical…
Lovers of *The Great Gatsby*, gather round! The Sheraton Grand London Park Lane has unveiled a dazzling new afternoon tea in official partnership with *The Great Gatsby: A New Musical* at the London Coliseum. Think flapper-era glamour, Fitzgerald finesse, and a whole lot of deliciousness.
This stunning afternoon tea will whisk you away into Gatsby’s glittering world - off the stage and onto your plate. It’s a chance for Londoners and theatre buffs alike to experience the roaring ’20s through a feast of flavours, an opulent setting, and a vibe that would make Jay Gatsby himself raise a glass.
The tea kicks off with a creative selection of savoury delights and sandwiches, each inspired by Fitzgerald’s iconic characters and settings. Highlights include the Rockefeller Smoked Salmon Tart, topped with dill crème and cucumber pearls (very East Egg chic), the East Egg Truffle Salad, a fancy little mix of summer truffle and heritage egg, and the Gatsby Club, stacked with roast chicken and pancetta (because what’s a party without a club sandwich?). Sweet treats bring the drama: there’s the zesty Lemon & Jazz-mine Meringue Pie, Daisy’s Tropical Choux with exotic fruit crémeux and a passion fruit glaze, and the gold-dusted Roaring Opera, a pistachio and raspberry sponge extravaganza that screams Gatsby-level indulgence. Oh, and let’s not forget the Gatsby Forest Gâteau—rich kirsch-soaked sponge and dark chocolate for a decadent grand finale. Naturally, all this comes with warm scones, clotted cream, preserves, and a selection of posh teas—or Champagne, if you’re in the mood to toast like Gatsby himself.
Feeling thirsty? The themed cocktail menu in Palm Court is ready to quench that Prohibition-era thirst (without the speakeasy secrecy). Sip on the Gatsby Gold Rush, a bold mix of WhistlePig Rye and kumquat cordial, a cheeky nod to Gatsby’s love of fortune. Or try the Green Light Martini, a crisp concoction of chive and mint-infused gin with cucumber Lillet, symbolising eternal hope (and maybe a little longing). For party vibes, the Flapper’s Fizz - a playful raspberry and Champagne creation - captures the essence of Gatsby’s wild soirées. And if booze isn’t your thing, Daisy’s Delight offers a sparkling floral non-alcoholic option that’s as charming as its namesake.
This fabulous feast is served daily in the hotel’s original 1920 Palm Court—a Grade II-listed gem that’s one of London’s most dazzling Jazz Age architectural treasures. It’s the perfect backdrop for sipping tea, nibbling cakes, and pretending you’re at one of Gatsby’s legendary parties.
Cheers, old sport!
